Academically rigorous and accessible
My courses bring together academically rigorous resources with accessible learning. With almost two decades of teaching experience, I am an expert in bringing students with me so we walk together on a mutual learning journey. I deliberately use a lot of research from female Muslim scholars. My courses combine the latest academic research with learning resources like workbooks to enable you to continue your learning well after completing the course.

For far too long, Islamic education has been a passive exercise where wise men impart knowledge based on old texts. My educational offer is unique because it respects the rich knowledge tradition of Islam but invites criticality and reflection. In this way, I create a safe space where we can ask difficult questions and invite bold conversations. I also share with you the work of outstanding female Muslim scholars who are a guiding light for us all.
Grounded in lived realities
Us Muslims often feel that our current religious learning and law feels outdated and irrelevant. I bring to the table a reformist approach which takes inspirtation from Allama Muhammad Iqbal's call to reconstruct our religious thought to make it fit for our present and our future. Your lived reality forms a valuable part of our learning spaces - your devotion to God and the Islamic way of life but also your pain. Integral to this is care for the humanity of all people and our sacred planet. I bring this lived reality to inform my educational offer.
